Summer Market at Grelen Wedding | Emily & Nevin
If you’re on the hunt for a venue that fits the bill for a COVID-19 friendly celebration, check out this summer Market at Grelen wedding. Emily & Nevin downsized their original day, taking their large guest count and trimming it down to just their nearest and dearest. They also reduced the number of activities for their guests to encourage social distancing and a safe event. For their guests that couldn’t attend, they sent out a “wedding-in-a-box kit” so everyone could celebrate in spirit, how sweet is that?!
For Emily & Nevin, family is everything and they wove tradition and special tributes to family throughout their day. To start, Emily’s engagement ring was a family heirloom, originally belonging to Nevin’s mother. Nevin and his groomsmen also started their morning at a family property called Harkaway.
When everyone entered quarantine back in March, Emily & Nevin made the decision to quarantine with Emily’s parents which turned into a casual three-month, pre-wedding stay with the future in-laws. What may have driven some engaged couples a little crazy only served to pull Emily and Nevin closer together. Emily told me just before the wedding that the bonus time together had been such a blessing and reminded us all the more of how sweet it will be to have “a forever of days together”. She said that pre-2020, they wanted to stay focused on the real meaning of their wedding, committing to one another. As the surrounding world grew more hectic, Emily and Nevin really felt centered around that goal.
Although their wedding day was minus a few important people present, they still found so much joy in committing to one another and finding joy in the celebration! The evening wrapped up with Emily & Nevin hopping in a stunning Rolls Royce belonging to Nevin’s dad. This summer Market at Grelen wedding was such a beautiful tribute to keeping a celebration going even when life hands you some 2020 lemons!
