Savannah had originally booked me to photograph her vow renewal in Richmond, but when COVID 19 steam rolled the event industry – she asked if there was any way that we could put together a spicy surprise as an anniversary gift for her husband. With plans of getting pregnant in the near future, Savannah wanted photos to be able to look back on to celebrate herself exactly as she is now. Northern Virginia Boudoir photography was calling her name!
You already know that when it comes to boudoir, I always joke that while the products might be for your partner – the experience is definitely for you!
From our very first call together, I could tell that we were kindred spirits so seeing her ease into a new level of self-confidence was a real treat.
“As someone who would not describe themselves as “sexy” or having “sex appeal”, I was nervous that I would look awkward, frigid, or have extreme resting bitch face in all of my photos. Kyra did a great job creating a comfortable atmosphere, guiding me through all of the posing and expressions, and making adjustments when needed. After I saw my reveal, I was pleasantly surprised. I was worried I wouldn’t like any of my photos and that I was not going to feel like I had done a beautiful shoot. I saw Kyra’s finished work and loved how natural she was able to capture everything. She set me up to be the best version of myself.”
“I loved trying something out of my comfort zone and was so happy with my shoot, album, and prints. My husband raves they are classy AND hot. I had no idea what to expect but was so relieved to have the coaching and being walked through all of the posing and positions. The session itself is a judgement free, happy zone! Kyra is great with coming up with ideas and guidance but is also open to suggestions and listens to your preferences. You won’t be put in an uncomfortable situation- just girls hanging out.”
When asked what she would say to people who feel they can’t do a boudoir session because they are too shy, nervous, etc, Savannah encouraged people to “just relax and trust your photographer. It will all come together! I felt confident and happy! I don’t take a lot of photos, yet alone anything risque so it is nice to see yourself all put together and looking great.”
