Let’s dive on in to this comprehensive guide to Virginia’s best wedding venues!
-
Pippin Hill Winery
First to make the list has to be Pippin Hill. An icon amongst the East Coast, Pippin is known for it’s top notch wedding experience with the best food, service, staff and views in Virginia. (They’ve won just about every award in the wedding world from best food in the south to Vogue’s dream wedding inspiration!) Pippin Hill is truly unforgettable from the moment you walk through their hydrangea lined pathway towards the Granary. Your guests will be raving as they sip artisanal cocktails and gaze out across the vineyard. I swear I’ve never seen a bad photo here! An absolute dream of a space in any season, Pippin Hill Winery ensures a stress-free and beautiful day so that you can focus on celebrating with your closest loved ones.
2. Market at Grelen
Near and dear to my heart is the Market at Grelen. An active nursery nestled into the Charlottesville wine country, Grelen is a european-inspired garden venue with an incredible staff. With beautiful villas nearby for the wedding parties to get ready together, three ceremony locations to choose from, and a reception tent with slate floors, they truly have thought of every way to take care of their couples. Whether you’re looking for an intimate gathering in the Half-Moon Garden, a showstopping view of the vineyards, or an industrial vibe inside of the greenhouse itself, the Market of Grelen is the perfect way to introduce your loved ones to the heart of Virginia. The grounds are a photographer’s dream, and I always love sneaking my couples out of the reception tent for a few minutes to snag a shot under the twinkle lights on the pergola
To see Grelen in action, you can check out Jessica + Jeremy’s wedding HERE.
3. Stone Tower Winery
If you’re feeling anxious about the weather, Stone Tower has the perfect answer for you! On a sunny day, your guests can watch you say “I do!” as the sun sets gently over Hogback Mountain and it’s vineyard covered valleys. In the rain (or if you’re on the lookout for a unique wedding venue idea!) Stone Tower offers their Tank Room lined in giant wine barrels as an option as well. All in all, Stone Tower offers multiple getting ready suites to choose from, four different ceremony sites across the venue, and one of the prettiest cocktail hour and reception spaces in the Northern Virginia/DC area. An incredible backdrop for photos, Stone Tower Winery weddings are always the perfect blend of your personality and Virginia’s best.
3. Goodstone Inn
If you’ve ever daydreamed at your work computer of running barefoot through the gardens of a beautiful European mansion in a flowy gown, The Goodstone Inn was made for you. I don’t make the rules! I’m obsessed with the way the sun peeks through their ivy covered walls into the ceremony site, giving this venue the feeling that you’ve invited your guests into this hidden gem. This Northern Virginia wedding venue is just calling out for romantic wedding getaways to celebrate your love story far from the stress of the world, preferably with a champagne tower. 😉🥂 Drawing inspiration from elegant, European getaways – the Goodstone Inn would be an incredible match for the DC couple looking to create a memorable ‘staycation’ experience with their guests.
4. Morais Vineyard
Keeping in line with Virginia’s best European-inspired wedding venues, Morais Vineyard showcases old world elegance at every turn. Featuring a stunning and spacious bridal cottage for pre-ceremony celebration, a separate suite for your partner on-site, the options for photos are practically unlimited. The vineyards themselves are a photographer’s dream, and I LOVE taking my couples and their wedding party to the unique greenhouse on the property. The venue owner also owns a classic car that can be used for photos! If you love to make an impression, definitely check out Morais! As they arrive, your guests are greeted in an elaborate Italian-inspired courtyard before taking a beautiful tree-lined path to your ceremony site. (Feeling a little introverted? Morais’ ballroom features a private balcony where the two of you can enjoy dinner alone without feeling completely cut off from your guests!)
5. Pharsalia
When I tell you that Pharsalia has an INCREDIBLE view from every angle, I don’t mean it lightly! Pharsalia’s ceremony site is unmatched when it comes to views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and even the cocktail hour space shows off an often-hidden look at the mountains. Tucked away into the foothills, this flower farm is the perfect marriage of elegant and welcoming for a big celebration with loved ones. Pharsalia has one of the best white sailboat tented reception spaces in Virginia, and between beautiful sunlight streaming down and all of the little gorgeous photo pockets in this hidden gem I literally never run out of beautiful photo locations. (As a garden-loving soul, this venue is one of my very favorites!)
6. Early Mountain Vineyards
Early Mountain Vineyards is an elegant wedding staple for Charlottesville, Virginia. Featuring a huge cozy fireplace that is absolutely to die for and amazing views of the mountains, this is the perfect wedding venue for a couple who wants to sip custom cocktails as they watch the sun set over the mountain range and then dance all night long. If you’re planning a destination-for-your-guests style wedding, Early Mountain Vineyard gives an incredible impression of Virginia’s natural beauty in any season!
7. Raspberry Plain Manor
I am obsessed with weddings at Raspberry Plain Manor! With a romantic secret garden filled with shaped hedges and a secret path, distant mountain views, and an incredible indoor space featuring huge windows that add a bohemian flair to your wedding day. My spring couples should definitely check this venue out: their indoor and outdoor ceremony options are equally beautiful and bright which can save you from stressing about inclement weather! Raspberry Plain Manor also has roomy and bright getting ready spaces for both brides and grooms – which is unique because men usually get stuck in dark ole basements!

This is another one of my all-time favorite Virginia wedding venues! Irvine Estate and House Mountain Inn are tag-team properties with a mountain lodge staycation feel to them. The Irvine Estate has an incredible getting ready space which is extra roomy for a whole wedding party squad to party. Seriously, you could sleep in the bathroom! There’s lots of room available for your loved ones to make a weekend of your wedding in cozy Lexington, Virginia. The Quick Hotel completely lives up to its funky and cute name! Quirk has a completely unique style and personality as a venue, and is perfect for elopements! The vibes of the décor here are super reminiscent of Kate Spade—perfect for anyone who loves that pop of play and color, especially for getting ready photos! A true classic in the RVA, it is also the perfect home for editorial photos on the velvet sofas in the lobby, in front of the ivy wall in the iconic tiled courtyard, or on their rooftop with a killer view of Richmond skyline. Plus, the lawns and manicured gardens are perfectly maintained and will delight your guests as they eat and chat under the stars during your beautiful reception!
17. Great Marsh Estate
Ooooo such a Virginia and DC wedding classic! The Great Marsh Estate is a rose colored historic home right outside of DC that is the epitome of classic romance. I have a soft spot for the greenery and texture available throughout this entire venue, but I often hear praise for the patio style balcony that looks straight out of the pages of Style Me Pretty. This venue would be so beautiful in the spring especially, with greenery climbing up the pillars of the porch for a unique ceremony site that gives a little extra protection in case of rain. No tent needed! If you want a long veil or a round ceremony arch, this is the wedding venue for you!
