After saying “Yes!!” to a lifetime of fun beside your favorite person, now it’s time to sift through all of the best wedding venues in Maryland to find your ideal match!

As a Maryland wedding photographer, I’ve put together this detailed guide based on my years of experience to showcase more than 25 of Maryland’s most photogenic wedding venues.  Maryland is home to so many gorgeous locations so buckle up as I explain how each venue can set the tone of your wedding day photos and bring your wedding Pinterest boards to life! Let’s jump on in to this comprehensive guide to wedding venues in Maryland!

Meet the best Maryland Wedding Venues

1. Mt. Washington Mill Dye House

The Mt. Washington Mill Dye House is a show-stopping yet intimate Baltimore wedding venue featuring historic architectural details and a gorgeous stone courtyard. With a signature look that lends itself to either a romantic bohemian vibe or an industrial chic atmosphere, let the exposed stone details and beautifully hung Edison bulbs set the stage for your ceremony with up to 200 guests. It’s so easy to picture a candlelit Vogue-worthy wedding inside this space!

2. Oxon Hill Manor

Oxon Hill Manor is a classical picturesque historic landmark featuring early 1920s colonial style architecture and lush, manicured gardens. The inside of this gorgeous venue on the Potomac River showcases original chandeliers, ornate fireplaces, and soft sconce light fixtures to create a romantic “period piece” vibe for your big day. If the idea of a custom wax seal on your wedding invitations and pearl covered Jimmy Choos excite you, this space could be your dream venue for a timeless wedding. (I hate to admit that I haven’t seen Bridgerton… but when I picture a Bridgerton-inspired wedding, it takes place at a venue like this one!)

3. Inn at Perry Cabin

Invite loved ones from near and far to experience the eastern shore with this coastal gem. The Inn at Perry Cabin is here to make your seaside wedding venue dreams come true: close enough to Washington DC that juggling travel logistics is a breeze, but far enough off of the beaten path to make you feel as though you’ve got a private island to yourselves. Whether you want to tie the know with a waterside ceremony and dance the night away in a grand ballroom, or say “I do” along the Inn’s private yacht and then host a private dinner in the gardens  – the Inn at Perry Cabin has the perfect space for you. Described as a home to intimate hideaways with dramatic spaces around every corner, this luxurious wedding venue gives your event a taste of elegance perfect for a spring or summer ceremony and reception.

4. George Peabody Library

Whether you’re a self-labeled bookwork or just want a unique Maryland wedding venue, the George Peabody Library in Baltimore is the perfect space for those who want to celebrate not only their love of each other but also their love of books. This historic, curated library has a beautiful central reading room filled a view of multiple floors containing 300,000 volumes of books, and ornate iron railings with gold leaf details. If “cozy elegance” had a home, it would be George Peabody! Between beautiful marble staircases and the gentle twinkle lights that cover the dance floor, George Peabody looks beautiful from any angle.

5. Cylburn Arboretum

My garden-loving heart has a soft spot for this one! The Cylburn Arboretum is a green oasis in urban Baltimore, perfect for couples who want to escape the hustle for their wedding day. With four venue options within Cylburn, each space is united by the lush greenery connecting the colorful grounds. The Cylburn Mansion, one of the available venues within the Arboretum, feels like an English manor home with it’s stonework details and surrounding gardens. If you prefer a more modern and chic space, The Vollmer Center would be your perfect fit within the Arboretum. With huge windows, textured concrete floors and creamy curtains, this space is begging for acrylic chairs and a candlelit centerpieces.

6. Liriodendron Mansion

Full stop: The grounds of the Liriodendron Mansion are what wedding dreams are made of. The Liriodendron Mansion feels like a castle that Maryland has forgotten with time with it’s sweeping outdoor marble staircase leading to an oasis of lush greenery. (Speaking of greenery, the stone porch is draped in plants that arch over the seating area giving a secret garden feeling to your cocktail or reception space!) Whether you’re looking for a splash of color for an outdoor summer venue or something more timeless yet bold in front of the cozy fireplaces, the Liriodendron Mansion would be the perfect spot to spend an evening with your loved ones. You’ll fall in love with the way that the sun sets through the trees!

7. Rawlings Conservatory

If you’re looking for a picture-perfect garden for your wedding day no matter the season, the Howard Peters Rawlings Conservatory will be the best that you can find in Maryland. Winter weddings can guarantee some green inside of the greenhouse, and summer weddings can celebrate out on the expansive grounds for your ceremony, with a little taste of dancing the night away under the sky. The signature glass domed greenhouse is an icon for the Baltimore wedding venue scene. If green speaks to you, the energy of this space is unreal!

8. Sagamore Pendry Hotel

The spaces at the Sagamore Pendry Hotel offer some of the most sophisticated, art deco inspired ballroom areas you can find in Maryland! The gorgeous internal architecture will provide a wide variety when it comes to your photos, from the industrial chic courtyard with its greenhouse-style ceiling, steel beams and wispy trees to the elegant arched windows and one-of-a-kind view of the National Harbor. This venue would knock a glamorous event out of the park! Located in the heart of Baltimore, transportation is easily accessible and guests can have the option to stay on-site for your wedding weekend. (Did someone say NYE wedding?)

9. Citizens’ Ballroom

One of the most unique wedding venues in Maryland, Citizens’ Ballroom is a renovated bank located at a cornerstone in downtown Frederick. Citizens’ Ballroom features bold art decor style floor to ceiling windows that make a statement when paired with its detailed marble architecture. This is a space that exudes luxury from the moment you and your guests step through the marble and steel doorway. Of the several ceremony set up options available in this space, my personal favorite is the steel bank vault door that is just begging to be dressed up in a modern floral installation. As of writing this, Citizens’ Ballroom is renovating their reception space to an industrial chic vibe and you can follow along  with their renovations HERE.

10. Strong Mansion

Strong Mansion offers a timeless wedding look with an intimate garden ceremony space, picturesque stone courtyard, and lush natural environment on Sugarloaf Mountain. It reminds me of Virginia’s Great Marsh Estate with it’s arched windows and sweeping views outdoors. At night, Strong Mansion becomes a whimsical space featuring outdoor fairy lights and softly lit reception tents perfect for your midsummer night’s dream wedding.  Just picturing a first dance out here under the stars has me feeling SO inspired!

11. Historic London Town & Gardens

I’m really itching to work here! This historic “lost” colonial town and ornate garden sanctuary on the South River in Edgewater is the perfect backdrop to your intimate and exclusive wedding celebration. Your wedding will feel like a sweet little secret tucked away in the wooded grounds right on the water. The variety of photo backdrops available at this venue is unreal! (You know I can’t resist hydrangea bushes!!)

12. Running Hare Vineyard

Get a little slice of Sonoma winemaking country right here in Maryland at the Running Hare Vineyard! Choose from a picture-perfect Tuscan style villa and a gorgeous outdoor Hilltop Pavilion for your old-world, European inspired day! (Is it really un-cool of me to mention that this is one of the first date night spots that Cody and I tried when we moved to Maryland? The wine slushies and wings here are literally the best we’ve ever had … and we are definitely wing people so the standards are high!)

13. Patapsco Female Institute

The grounds at Patapsco Female Institute, a former girls’ boarding school, are an art form in and of themselves! Filled with historic details from its day as a school, this venue also features a Greek revival structure that is open for tours or wedding celebrations. I consider Patapsco the perfect home for my signature timeless-with-a-twist style as it really makes a statement as a venue, while still being a neutral palette for your personality and relationship dynamic to shine.

14. Herrington On the Bay

Herrington On the Bay is a Maryland favorite, complete with two unique venues: The Herring Bay Garden & Herrington Yacht Club offers natural surroundings and waterfront views, while the Polynesian Lawn & Paradise Ballroom offers an upscale but pastoral vibe with twinkling fairy lights and customizable lounge décor. If the video on the homepage of the venue’s website doesn’t make you want to tie the knot as the sun sets over the water, I don’t know what will!

15. Silver Swan Bayside

If you’ve been waiting for the ideal venue for a quiet, secluded, and romantic beachfront wedding, here it is: Silver Swan Bayside. Considered a hidden gem amongst the other wedding venues in Maryland, this sophisticated beach wedding venue offers great views of Chesapeake Bay with an outdoor ceremony and reception space with cozy fireplaces.

16. Main Street Ballroom

One of my favorite venues in Maryland! Main Street Ballroom gives couples a cool, urban loft feel for their receptions and ceremonies. The industrial details offer the perfect “blank slate” for you to fill the space with your unique character and décor choices while still lending it’s own signature atmosphere. Can’t you picture this reception space draped in fairy lights and greenery garlands and a wholeeee lot of folks dancing to Whitney’s “I want to dance with somebody”?

17. Belvedere Hotel

The Belvedere Hotel is a premier Maryland location for elegant and timeless weddings. This large, indoor-outdoor wedding venue has an amazing and photogenic fountain, gardens, and romantic indoor reception space. If you’re on the hunt for a candle-lit black tie affair, look no further!

18. Evergreen Museum and Library

If you like the feeling of the Liriodendron Mansion, let me paint a picture of your wedding at the Evergreen Museum and Library: a ceremony among the well-kept lawns that stretch out as far as the eye can see followed by a fun-filled reception at the historic carriage house with an incredible exposed brick wall featuring pops of green doors and plenty of room under the custom-built white tent for dancing. If you or your partner are big on architecture, this wedding venue in Maryland is a must! Your guests will enjoy the shaped topiaries and outdoor foliage as well as the unique features of the indoor venue at the intimate carriage house with original brick. If you’ve been pinning velvet sofa lounges for your guests, this is the Maryland venue for you!

19. Morningside Inn

Located in Frederick, the Morningside Inn is a gorgeous venue that touts being an ideal spot for weddings in all seasons. Your reservation of the venue includes exclusive use of a large private estate with everything you would need for your special day, including spaces for the bridal party and a groom’s lounge. The rolling hills of this venue (and that insanely beautiful willow tree!) will make the perfect backdrop for your big day!

20. Celebrations at the Bay

If getting married on the water is more of your speed, stop your scroll for this one! A vision on the waterfront, Celebrations at the Bay offers three unique ballroom and ceremony spaces for you to marry the love of your life. Enjoy a clean look out on the Chesapeake Bay as you dance the night away on the porch beside your family and friends. Reminiscent of the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club with its beautiful harbor view and clean, crisp beachy aesthetic, it’s easy to picture saying “I do” here!

21. Belmont Manor

My weakness for white sail tents and rolling gardens strikes again! You’ll be just as obsessed with the impeccable grounds at Belmont Manor for your outdoor wedding celebration – The space offers exclusive use of the first floor of the manor, which can accommodate an intimate guest list and wedding party for an indoor event. In terms of it’s outdoor offerings, this venue is a summer’s wedding dream with plenty of bright, beautiful spaces for your most cherished memories.

22. Glen Ellen Farm

Glen Ellen Farm has an understated charm with sophisticated details and finishes. Dripping in greenery, the grounds of Glen Ellen Farm feature flower fields, a beautiful pond, and several stone trails. You and your wedding party can get ready in a beautiful white farm house with covered porches, and dance the night away under a beautiful white tented reception. Ever since finding this venue online, I’ve become obsessed with the idea of portraits with your bridesmaids surrounded by lush dahlia bushes and romantic portraits with your partner lakeside at sunset. If Hobbits could design wedding venues in Maryland, I can only imagine that it would be this one!

23. Whitehall Manor

Whitehall Manor is one of Maryland’s premier historic wedding venues. Dating back to 1764, this historic landmark has Palladian architecture (think beautiful white pillars!) and a gorgeous view of the Chesapeake Bay. While this is a natural beauty in itself, Whitehall also gives you plenty of opportunity to add in your own vision with florals and other décor. The stage is perfectly set for an elegant spring or summer wedding!

24. Rosewood Farm

On the hunt for a modern barn during your search for wedding venues in Maryland? Rosewood Farm may be the perfect home for you with its combination of clean sophistication and rustic charm. The white walls of the venue are crisp and clean, setting the stage perfectly for your personality and style to really shine. Views of a gorgeous pond, a well-kept courtyard, and a grand reception room combine to make this a wedding venue fit for the celebration of your dreams.

25. Magnolia Manor

Magnolia Manor is a private, stone-sided country estate surrounded by beautiful gardens and filled with original furnishings and details. I always love to point out porches because covered spaces (like these beautiful porches!) mean that you don’t have to worry about the weather as we zoom through wedding party and family formal photos. You can probably already tell that I’m a real sucker for lots of greenery, and Magnolia Manor delivers!
