When Kate came to me sharing her dream for a romantic Italian elopement that was now off the table thanks to the pandemic, I wanted to find the perfect spot for their engagement session to really infuse their photos with the feeling of being in the Italian countryside. After all, just because you can’t elope in Italy, you can still feel like you were whisked away for the afternoon, right? I found the perfect, secluded spot, one that would totally make us feel like we were teleported into a lush Tuscan garden with the soft Italian sunlight rippling through the trees. Needless to say, this garden engagement session at a Charlottesville private estate brought that soft, cultivated countryside feel.
I absolutely love the way they paired their outfits, it’s the perfect blend of timeless and classic. Exactly what you’d want if you were able to whisk away to Italy for photos, right? Don’t feel like you absolutely have to save wearing a white dress for your wedding day. White is such a beautiful color on everyone, selecting a white dress (or even a white shirt!) will give you a luminous glow in your photos. Of course, what engagement session is complete without popping some champagne? Kate and Aaron have so much to celebrate and you can totally see that written on their faces.
Kate and Aaron met playing kickball on the National Mall and dated for five years before they got engaged on Mount Rainier. How romantic is that?! As they plan their wedding now, a celebration with family is their top priority. Although an intimate Italian elopement is no longer on the table, I cannot wait to capture all of their loved ones reuniting to celebrate as they tie the knot and officially begin this brand new chapter together! This garden engagement session at a Charlottesville private estate was just a peek into the fun to come!
