When Kishan’s inquiry about photographing his surprise proposal to Krishna in Maymont Park hit my inbox, I gasped out loud 😂 His initial vision was so detailed and personalized to Krishna that I knew it was going to be a stunning Richmond engagement session!

 

Kishan thought of everything! He secretly travelled up to Richmond from Atlanta, GA on the day of the proposal under the guise of being at a work conference to make sure Krishna never suspected a thing.

 

With friends and family in on the surprise, everyone worked together to make Krishna believe there was a tasting event with a personal chef going on in the park so that she would be willing to have her nails, hair and make up done that evening with a cousin.

 

It was a team effort to set everything up before Krishna arrived!  Everyone was on pins and needles as we awaited the text that she had parked and was walking down the path towards Kishan. It felt like time was moving so slow and so quickly all at once!

Kishan joked that he had blacked out a little bit while waiting for Krishna to answer!

After a tearful yes set to the cheers of their friends, these two shared a few minutes alone to celebrate privately before asking for a group photos to commemorate everyone who came together for the big surprise.

As someone who believes wholeheartedly in telling meaningful stories through images that bring people together over and over again despite time and distance, this Richmond Engagement session was one for the books! Can’t you just picture these two years in the future, piled up on the sofa with their children or a reunion of their closest loved ones, flipping through an album to relive the rush of their engagement?

Those million dollar smiles say it all! These two share an electric connection, and I can’t get over the way Kishan and Krishna were beaming at each other all evening.
