When it comes to a timeless feeling engagement session, you truly can’t top a location like The Kennedy Center. The mid-century modern twist on classic DC architecture is a backdrop that adds character yet doesn’t distract from portraits, which is harder to find than you would think! Plus, there’s just something special about photographing as this stunning building celebrates its 50th birthday and centennial of President Kennedy’s birthday.
When Amrita and Anuj shared that they’d love to bring their yellow lab along for their engagement photos, I was all in! Benson has such a sweet story of joining their family – 3 weeks into dating, Amrita and Anuj adopted him with the intent of training Benson as a seeing-eye dog. It felt like a risk-free, fun way to explore puppy parenthood, after all, he would go right back into puppy foster care once his training was complete.
What they didn’t account for was falling head over heels for this sweet, wiggly furball. When Benson ultimately failed his training due to an allergy, they instantly adopted him and he’s been with them for five years.
I absolutely love that Amrita and Anuj decided to bring two outfits to their engagement session!
Just because you are taking photos on elegant, historic grounds doesn’t mean that you can’t have both casual and elegant outfits so you have plenty of options for making an engagement photo album and finding the perfect photo for your save-the-dates.
The chemistry these two share is so special, this set of photos feels like they simply captured in their natural element, enjoying a night out in the city! I can picture them walking into a ballet or symphony, can’t you?
