Sky Meadows State Park is just the prettiest spot for engagement photos if you’re craving a rustic and wild feel. (A little note to help my fellow photographers, make sure you get a permit, schedule your session, and pay attention to where to park!) Kelsea, Bradley and I rocked the 30 degree weather without a hitch. Forever Washington Capitals fans, these two leaned into their motto, “go through it, not around it”, and didn’t let the chilly air bother them one bit. Kelsea and Bradley also brought along their sweet dog, Darla. She was a total ball of energy, jumping around, happily licking any hand or face within reach, and over the moon to be out in the park. Sky Meadows State Park has over 1,860 acres of land and we barely scratched the surface when it came to beautiful spots for photos. If the whole park is this photogenic, I can’t wait to explore more. Honoring their love of the Capitals, Kelsea and Bradley brought along two different outfits! One to represent their team spirit, and the other to dress in a winter chic style. I encourage all my couples to do this, it’s such a great way to get two different looks in photos and you never know which one you’ll end up loving more and want to put on your save the date cards. Kelsea and Bradley felt incredibly comfortable in front of my camera and were blown away by how amazing they looked in photos, despite the freezing temperatures. What can I say? I know how to work some photo magic, no matter the weather! We ended our session popping a bottle of champagne to add a celebratory feel. I can’t wait to capture more engagement photos in Sky Meadows State Park soon! P.S. Check out another fun engagement session here!
