Kelsey and Jeremy are vintage dealers, so it’s no surprise that their backyard wedding in Charlottesville, Virginia was as stylish and retro as they are. Filled with mid-century tables, antique church pews, and velvet lounge furniture vignettes, their wedding at home had layers of detail and charm.
There’s no better way to have a one-of-a-kind wedding than to do it right at home. I love the way that personal details blend naturally with wedding details when done at my couples’ homes. Kelsey and Jeremy got ready in their house, just steps away from the ceremony. Bonus – getting married at home means your puppy can be there, too! They chose to have their backyard wedding in Charlottesville Virginia at home because of the flexibility of using their own space, and the ability to decorate it however they’d like.
They say that rain on a wedding day brings good luck – so Kelsey and Jeremy must be very lucky! Their ceremony was held outside despite the downpour, guests arriving with umbrellas in hand. In my opinion, the rain only added to the romance of the ceremony. I loved watching the two of them exchange vows in the rain, hardly caring about getting wet.
Luckily, Kelsey and Jeremy were prepared for the weather and had a tent set up for their reception. Tent receptions are great when you want the beauty of the outdoors without the element of rain or wind ruining the fun.
Their wedding was coordinated by Erin with Rockfish Valley Events, and their florals by Poppy Flowers perfectly complimented their vintage palette.
After the ceremony, their guests enjoyed live music by bluegrass aficionados The Whiskey Rebellion.
One thing that Jeremy mentioned looking forward to was the cake – theirs was created by Passionflower Cakes, located in Charlottesville.
