If you’ve read my About page, you’ll know that photos of ordinary, everyday moments are so important to me. Preserving that feeling of ‘home’ has taken on new meaning during this quarantine as I think about the way that COVID-19’s interruption to daily life will be considered a staple piece of our generation in global history.
When I wrote “In the modern age, with family and friends living all over the world, sometimes photos like these are all we have to hang on to” I could never have imagined the way that photos and videos would be connecting quarantined homes together. We have the chance to document history in a way that previous generations couldn’t have imagined.
Don’t miss out on documenting your history, however it makes sense to you.
Your cell phone photos of your kids doing schoolwork at home are important. Your quarantine selfies with your dog, snuggled up in that comfy spot on the sofa are a piece of modern history.
While talking about this over dinner with my husband, I decided to take this 8 week social distancing as an opportunity to find new ways to document my ordinary. If you’d like to join me, I’ve created this checklist for my first week and I’ll be sharing my images (and yours!) in my instagram story every day.
